The Saturday Night
Shadowland Theatre’s Winter 2009 Lobby Concert Series
on January 24 in Downtown
The Saturday
Night Bluegrass Band, the Ulster County quintet with a strong, long-time Hudson
Valley following since 2004, has
appeared weekly at the Colony Café in Woodstock, NY for several years, and more
recently at the Bearsville Theatre in Bearsville, NY. The band consists of Brian Hollander
(guitar, vocals); Tim Kapeluck (mandolin, fiddle,
vocals); Geoff Harden (bass, vocals); Guy “Fooch” Fischetti (fiddle); and Bill Keith (banjo).
According to
Hollander, “Tim Kapeluck, Bill Keith and I originally
played together on and off locally for more than 25 years with a repertoire
that extends from traditional bluegrass to American acoustic music, jazz,
country and some odd tunes that fit no real category.” With two lead
vocalists, the band sings sweet three-part harmonies complemented by Fooch Fischetti’s fiddling and
the Bill Keith’s innovative banjo playing.
Admission to the
January 24 concert is $15.00. Doors open at 7:30 pm, the concert begins
